Discuss your organization skills here!| Do you have the habit of highlighting important events in the wall calendar? | | My father in law has the habit of highlighting all important events of the year, immediately he gets a new year calendar. He is 80+ now, but I have been watching him since years doing this, Moreover as we follow our religion calendar which does not match with the English calendar dates, he does this(in the English Calendar) so that no event is forgotten. Even otherwise I have seen people making a note of milkman's due, fees to be paid, electricity bills due date and so many other things highlighted and marked in the calendar to avoid forgetting those dates and things to be done.
So how many of you also have this habit?
| | Do you still use a wall calendar? | | I have one on my bulletin board in front of me. Today I flipped it to the current month after not noticing that it was still back in March....I hardly use it. I have two daily planners in my desk drawer that I use to record my future plans. There is always some place on tv or the computer that gives you the date and time. I recieved about four calendars this year but have only one up.....so do you still use a calendar on your wall? | |
| | | Wall calendar, desktop, day planner, etc- which do you prefer? | | I don't carry a purse, so I don't have room for any kind of day planner. I don't have much room on my desk for a desktop calendar- and those small ones tend to fall over. I much prefer wall calendars. I love looking at the pictures, I like having it there on my wall, easily accessible, away from desk clutter. I can take it down if I need to, and keep it up and out of the kid's reach as well. Which do you prefer, and why? | |
| | Have you changed your calender to February yet? | | This is kind of like a "how lazy are you" discussion:) I have spent all day starring at the teeny tiny Febraury box on the "next month" spot of my calendar. Meanwhile, it's still set to January. Why is it that I am so lazy about this? It takes 10 seconds to take down my calendar, flip the page, and put it back up! But it seems that whenever I need to know a date real fast, that is when I notice the calendar isn't flipped yet, but at the same time I don't want to lose my train of thought:-DI'm finally flipping my calendar to february after looking at the mini-feb square for the whole day:) It finally bothered me enough to get off my butt and flip it!How about you? Do you leave your calendar or are you real meticuluous about flipping it as soon as the month changes? | |
| | How do you stay organized? By calendar, by....... | | Me, I suck at using the typical wall calendar and mainly because of the tiny boxes you have to stuff things in, I have to hang a huge desk calendar on my wall because things have to stick out at me or Ill forget to look at the calendar, see how eventful my day is;)
I tried the appointment books but the same thing with space and I don't like carrying around more stuff than I have to, like diapers, change of clothes for two kids, camera, id book, my books, kids books, SERIOUS.
I will go through alot of my papers every month and try to narrow down the excess papers and that usually helps get me back on track and able to focus on today instead of yesterday, did i do this or did i do that.
Oh, and Im a big fan of LISTING because its quick to look at and remember what you need to do or pick, etc
Anyone have any useful ideas for keeping organized, disorganized is my name.
| | Do you have a calendar on the wall at home? | | I haven't had a calendar at home on my wall since I don't know when. My other half's aunt used to send an Aussie calendar every year and we would put it up because of the beautiful pictures of his homeland. Since she passed on we haven't bothered with a calendar on the wall. We have one on our computer and cell phones and that does us just fine. At work I have a calendar on my cubicle and use it a lot but at home, no. Each year the insurance place gives them out as does the bank and our office even. It just seems to me that with computers and cells the calendar on the wall is dying a slow and painful death. Is it just me or are calendars becoming obsolete? | |
| | | Do you know someone born on February 29? | | I was looking at my wall calendar earlier and realized that tomorrow is February 1. Wow! January of 2010 just passed by like a breeze! Then came a thought in mind... There are only 28 days of February this year and next year. There will be 29 days in 2012. Do you have friends who were born on the 29th of February? How do they celebrate their birthday? I do not really have friends who were born on February 29 but I know of some people who were born on the 29th of February. One of them, my former student. She told me that she celebrates her birthday on the 28th instead as she wants to celebrate her birthday annually and that she wants to feel normal. I wonder how other people deal with it. | |
