I used to keep -- my mobile phone, extra coins - some quarters, wallet, small notepad and a pen, address/ phone book ( In case phone is lost), band aid, mp4, perfume, some pix of my closefriends, tissues, handkerchief...

| | PM's won't allow me to send address & phone number?? | | A few days ago I PM'd a friend on My Lot. We are planning to meet, as we only live 300 or so kms away, & we respond to each others discussions a lot.
In my PM I gave this person my address & phone numbers.
I discovered via a response that he didn't receive it.
When I checked my messages created it wasn't there.So just a few minutes ago, I tried to PM this friend another message with much the same content as above. When I checked a few minutes later, it wasn't there, in my messages created..So, yet again, I tried to do a PM, this time with only my email address. According to my messages created, it did send.Do My Lot have a ban on giving out addresses or phone numbers? I mean, really, sure it is my perogative to decide whether or not to give out these details. No one else can read them, only the member I sent it to.What have others on mY Lot experienced in this regard?

It shows address, phone numbers, family members, pictures, hobbies, phone bill, etc. If you are on the internet more, you will have more info on there. I found a whole profile on me. Some things are incorrect and some outdated, but I saw a map of the home of the previous owner of my phone number- CELL number. It showed how many social networking sites I was a part of. To remove your listings, click on privacy at the bottom of the page and then paste the url of the page you wish to block. I had to do a few and it will only let you do a certain amount a day based on your email. Make sure to block your name, all your phone numbers and all your emails, if you have more than one. Spread the word of this privacy-violating site. I thought google was bad. People can join for only $2/month and get even more detailed information. If someone wants to know info about you, they won't mind skipping out on a cup of coffee. | |
| | How do you feel about children on the internet? | | I have a 6 year old son and an 8 year old daughter. They are on the internet frequently... they still play outside all the time, but they use the internet for school research, practice helps and they also use the internet for play. My daughter prefers the disney channel website my son prefers pbs kids. They both have webkinz and my daughter plays on my pogo account. It shocks me about how well they use a computer, their ease and agility are fantastic. They can both recite the safety rules for the computer, I thank disney channel for reinforcing what Daddy and I had already been telling them. My daughter even has her own netbook that she got for Christmas. They know what websites they are allowed to go to, and they stick to those only. Plus they are always monitored. I have net nanny.It just amazes me the abilities at such a young age kids have aquired.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~With that being said. I notice that alot of parents don't watch thier kids on the internet, nor do they stress safety, such as not giving out their names, ages, birthdays, address, phone number... I feel parents should be more proactive about that. I think its great that kids have the technology... | |

They want a lot of information from you, your email address, phone number, street address. It just appears that they have quite a few avenues to send you junk. I was just wondering if they do. | |

Such as instant message to our friends; send photos or share comments online, or even try to connect distant friends. In the recent years. people like to "google" other people, or in the name of long lost friend, such as in mylife.com, people can dig out their lost high school friends. Is it good or bad? When people "google" another person, there is privacy issue involved. People might be able to access public information, to get people's address, phone number, sometimes, even social security number. Just imagine, your personal information, or you privacy is invaded at this point. So, besides convenience, do you think "googling" people will be a good or bad aspect? | |
