| | Child Support | | I have been getting child support since 1998; in 2000 I got my ex to raise it as he was making 18/hr in Seattle. And I needed help with our 3 kids and my minimum wage job.It is now 2008 and he still pays and yes I am so lucky compared to many women and men out there that do not. But my ex makes close to $6000 per month and he still feels that what he has been paying for his three children ages 17, 15, and 12 is too much money. I have an open door policy for visiting and always have even though he married my little sister and they piss me off.
I have my kids because of him and I appreciate that I didn't create these beautiful people on my own.But He does things like come into town and buy a tv for his car so his 1 year old can watch tv on the way home, buys Jerserys with his favorite team, new shoes for him, his wife (mysister) and his baby and my children are with him while he is doing it. He did take them to lunch though. My daughter asked him for help with her homecoming dress and he said no ask your mom I pay her child support. I do have a mortgage, car to get them around in and lots of bills including a huge food bill. He pays way less than 400 per kid-way less.... | |

Growing up like most kids I thought my mom was old. But now I realize how young she really was. I understand things she said and choices she made now that I'm older. When my mom was my age (36) her kids were 17, 15 and 13. I'm 36 and my kids are 10, 8, and 5 (twins). I can't imagine having teenagers right now. I pay child support to their mother and to this day, she does not have a job. She is well educated and is employable. I find that I cannot afford to take trips to my daughters events (when they;'re far away) but their mom can... all on the child support. She also travels frequently to folk dances when the girls are with me. Something seems wrong.I am thinking about sending my child support to two bank accounts in my daughters' names with a debit card or checks so that their mother creates some kind of paper trail of expenditures. I lnow child support supports the child and in many cases the (mother) but without other work, I think something's not right. Opinion> | |

| | Things to do with my 2 1/2 year old | | Ok so here's the situation. I have a 17, 15, 2 1/2 year old. My two older ones have their friends and school and such. My 2 1/2 year old on the other hand is stuck home all day with just me and her. I take her to the park we play dolls and she watches alot of cartoons. The thing is that there are no other kids around her age where we live. She has no one to play with except me. This leaves me little time to do the other things I need to do. I also have ran out of ideas of things to do with her. Everytime she sees another little kid in a store she gets upset cause she wants to play with them. I cant afford to put her in daycare and she has another 7 months before she can go to preschool. Does anyone have any ideas on things we can do together or she can do on her own besides watching tv? I would love to hear any ideas. Thank you. | |
